Run as part of the Thamesmead Town Angling club, Birchmere Lake is a 11 acre lake in south east London with good access around the lake making it suitable for disabled anglers.
The lake was re-stocked with around 250 carp between 2-20lb in 2015 along with tench, bream, rudd and roach in a joint effort between the club and the Environmental Agency. The water also hold some large pike with with fish reportedly caught over 20lbs.
Sadly the water has been known to suffer from poaching, though the fish have been chipped to counter this.
Although run by the Angling club the water can be fished on a day ticket but only member can night fish.
